As far as going abroad is concerned, teachers do have a chance to work in any locality around the world. But there are some points which should really be kept in mind while you decide to go abroad. Teachers are respected all around the world but you should keep in mind that you should also look after your comfort. I must ask you that would you find it great to work in china where majority of people loves to speak Chinese. Yes English teachers are required in china but would you find to teach them even English while keeping in mind that they do not speak in English.
You can look for many international schools which are present worldwide. You will surely find some principal or director in any one school who is from your country. It is e reality that you will be interviewed by the director from your country. You will be selected as well. But the very next day you will find out that the director is transferred to some other place. You will have to do nothing but work in that environment. Hence it is better that you should plan your visit to an international school abroad. You will definitely find to be in trouble if you are left alone.
Apart from the above point the biggest obstacle for you will be the second language. You will be required to learn a second as well. You cannot survive in any African country by knowing just English. You will have to learn some local language as well.
However the science and technology throughout the world needs only one language if you want to have higher studies and that is English. In this case no student can survive without the English. Hence my advice for that teacher who wants to go abroad will definitely be the fact that they should become the teacher in science and technology. This will really broaden their chance to earn a place in some international school around the world. This will really be a great for you. The pay scale of science teachers is much higher than other subjects. Your opportunities are even doubled. At present there is really a shortage of science teachers all around the world. Every school does feel that they are lacking some good science teachers and they are ready to pay a good amount to them.
However I have not said that English or any other subject teacher do not have the chances to go abroad. They do have a very good chance to go abroad. There is no doubt as far as this observation is concerned. But my advice will really be that you should have second language in your belt if you want to enjoy while going abroad.
