Interview is the first interaction between you and the recruiter of the company. Many say that the written examination is not as important as the interview is. You will be facing an HR interview as well as technical interview. I would not indulge in explaining which interview is more important. I would just like to tell you ten most common mistakes which a job seeker makes during his interview.
1.Underestimating the recruitment consultant:
Many think that meeting the recruitment consultant is not a part of interview. They are terribly wrong. It's really a very important part of the interview and only those names among all candidates are sent to the employers who are shortlisted by the recruitment consultants.
2.Presentation:
Almost all the recruiters feel that you should attend the interview as if you are already employed. I don't mean that you should be over confident. What I really meant is that you should be properly dressed. Most of the recruiters feel that slippers and t-shirts should be avoided. I have heard that Glitter on the cheeks and chest is not appropriate.
3.Target your skills:
You should not say that "I can do anything". All the recruiters admires the can do attitude but you are required to target your skills first. Recruiters really want the applicants to revise their skills and preferred working environment which helps them in providing the applicants the best opportunities.
4.Resumes:
Many applicants are found to not give proper emphasis on their resumes. Make sue that the matter is well presented and are correct. For example you should mention the correct contact details.
5.Always be honest with your answers:
Never lie or exaggerate your skills or qualifications. You will be only the sufferer if you do so.
6.Be prepared:
You should do proper research before you appear for the interview. You should know in advance about the job for which you are applying. You should be able to explain your suitability for the post.
7.Be on time:
Many job seekers don't give importance to the time and are often late to reach the interview venue. They might also not able to give appropriate time to mentally prepare for the interview. This is a very bad habit and gives only one aspect about you that you are unreliable. Hence avoid this habit.
8.Telephone manner:
Recruiters at first interview you on the telephone. It is an experience that many job seekers are not able to express themselves on the phone. This is really your drawback if you are not able to express yourself. Be mentally prepared for telephonic interview.
9.Interview demeanor:
Recruiters prefer competent and likable people. You should take every interview as if it is your first interview. Appear interested and you should make sure that you are willing to work.
10.Be good to your referees:
Being able to provide the referees and their phone numbers is essential.

Career in finance
Finance is a very big topic and the source of employment is also very high. Either it is financial management at any level; you will really find it great. There are number of job vacancy in Finance. You must have heard about finance minister and financial budget. You can really understand how important the financial budget is. Either its business management or house management every one is worried about his finance. Either its insurance or marketing all needs a financial adviser. Budgeting or sales report finance is every where.
As far as financial management is concerned it can be divided into two subheadings: cash management, credit management. I once got a chance to work as an associate sales and finance office in one of the leading bank. I was relatively new in this field and hence I didn't know anything in this field. However during training I was taught many things about finances. One thing which I realized was that those who are new comers are responsible for interacting with the client. This level in termed as operational level. There are other two levels as well. They where middle management and top managements. The people like financial advisor fall in operational level. I was a part of middle management. My job was to supervise all the agents and advisors who used to contact with the clients. They used to gather all the information about the client and my job was to check whether all the documents were correct. After checking the entire document, I used to inform the agents and advisors about which client has passed my test. I then informed them to provide financial facilities to those clients.
I too was governed by the top management who used to give me a target and my job was to achieve the target with the help of agents and advisors. This is about my experience. I must tell you that I was not from this field but I was able to perform the job after training. I also never found difficulty in achieving the target. My payment was also very good.
I hope you can also get a good position. The only criteria which can book your place in finance are that you should be a graduate in any field. I assure you that you will really able to compete with this job after you have finished the training.
If you will join any good finance company you are due for training. Training period is very crucial. You have to pay extra attention during training because you will have to learn lots of new things. However if you have done post graduation or even graduation with specialization in finance, it will be a great help for you.
